FISHERY RULES
Main Lake Rules
Strictly 18yr Old Age Restriction In Place ( No exceptions )
Strictly Pre - Telephone Bookings only
Payment to be made to the water bailiff on the day
A maximum of 2 fishing rods per person
No rods to be left unattended at any time
No Leadcore is to be used
No double or treble hooks - Maximum size hooks 2/0. Barbless hooks or micro-barbed only. No wire traces.
End tackle that allows the fish to free itself is compulsory, no fixed lead, tether or bent hook rigs allowed
Fishing is allowed in the designated areas only
All main line must be either mono or with a minimum breaking strain of 18lb.
Minimum of 2.5llb test curve rods
Rig tubing or leaders to be used at all times, this reduces the risk of line damage to fish. Rig tubing must be at least 3'0" long to ensure no scale or fin damage occurs when playing the fish
Fish friendly - Rigs
Minimum size landing nets 42” recommendation of 50+”
Large fish to be beached on tarps and adequate unhooking mats or cradle must be used at all times for the safety of the fish and fish safety is paramount
Anybody seen holding the fish while standing up WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE.
Photography must be carried immediately after capture if required over appropriate unhooking mat or cradle
The use of remote controlled bait boats is banned
The sacking or retaining of any fish is not allowed in any circumstances
Anglers must use a bottle of fish anti septic, to treat any damaged areas of the fish or any hooking points
Under no circumstance must anglers damage bank side or any foliage by cutting trees, reeds or shrubbery
One non fishing guest is allowed per angler ( Spouse Only & If stopping over night then a Cabin will need to be hired )
All rubbish to be cleared from swim and be placed in the provided waste bins or taken home if these are full
No keep nets. No fish to be taken away from lake at anytime
Valid rod license to be held and available to be seen if requested by the bailiff
All anglers are expected to behave in an orderly conduct, and have consideration for the other anglers around them
Loud or Drunken behaviour will not be tolerated
Any angler breaking any of the fishing and site rules will be asked to leave the fishery immediately without refund.
Cabin & General Lake Rules
Guests can view the venue strictly via telephone appointments only
10mph speed limit at all times on premises
Vehicles to be parked in designated car park at owners risk
No vehicles to be driven or parked around the lake
No unnecessary noise or nuisance disturbing other fisherman
Swim areas to be left tidy and rubbish placed in litter bins
Barbecues are allowed in designated areas only. No fires allowed
Dogs Allowed on site ( Guide Dogs ONLY )
Toilets must be left clean after use
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times
Fir Tree Lakes will not be held liable for any incident caused through injury or death
No smoking inside cabins
No excessive drinking of alcohol on site
No smoking drugs or taking of drugs on site
Any angler breaking any of the fishing and site rules will be asked to leave the fishery immediately without refund.
Bait Rules
No Nuts or Pulse of any description allowed or unprepared particles
All feed pellets to be purchased from the fishery ( if you require 25kg please ring in advance to order and state what size you need )
A limit of 1kg of boilies feed is allowed per 24hr period
Tigernuts allowed on the rig ONLY
Live Baits STRICTLY banned
No frozen course fish allowed, Sea Bait ONLY ( Mackrel, Squid, Lamprey etc )
Any angler breaking any of the fishing and site rules will be asked to leave the fishery immediately without refund.
